Embrace

The patter of my tears
wet his shirt.
I sob,
my words incoherent.
The hair,
gently tucked behind my ear.
His voice,
soothing and soft.
His embrace,
comforting and strong.
His love,
unyielding and constant.
He who
held me since birth,
my rock, my friend,
my Father.

  1. I really liked this. my dad passed away this year and although our relationship improved greatly in the last couple years i always wonsdered what it would be like if we had both been more the same he was very different than me (we held opposite views on alot of things) and i think it would have been interesting to have a dad more like i was philosophically . he was a good dad and all but very conservative and we didnt really bond on that level but we still loved each other

  2. Thank you WilyB.

rivercat: I am very sorry about your father passing. Hugs are something I love giving out, so imagine me giving you a very good hug. My father and I have had a close bond since I can remember. There were moments when I would freeze, then get scared, because I would realize that things between him and I could be different. I have been very blessed to have the father that I have had the privilege to know for so long. I would be more than happy to let you borrow mine! I am thinking of you!
